From the Principal

We hope you have the opportunity to  look through the entire Newsletter this weekend to discover the many exciting events and activities that students have been invovled in over the past two weeks. Many of our students have participated in excursions to enhance the learning that they are doing in the classroom. Galilee is a busy place with lots of exciting opportunities on offer for our students.

Galilee Arts Festival

On Thursday 7th December we will be holding our first ever Arts Festival showcasing student art work and performances. Students have been busy preparing for the evening by practicing their song with Ms. Baptist in Performing Arts and completing art works that will be displayed in the stadium by Mrs. Florenca - Grillo. Our GPA has also organised for food to be available and other exciting activities for children to participate in. We encourage you to keep the evening of Thursday 7th December free. On the night families will be encouraged to view artwork in the stadium and then settle themselves on a picnic blanket on the playground to listen to the concert. More information about this event will be shared with families as we get closer to the date.

Principal Mackintosh

Today we welcomed a new Principal to Galilee: Mr. Mackintosh.

Mr. Macintosh started the day with lollies at the front gate, handed out zooper doopers to all students, enjoyed a McDonalds Lunch in the Principal's Office and addressed the community at the School Assembly. He did an outstanding job and proved popular with students, teachers and the entire community. Congratulations on your outstanding achievements today Flynn.

Galilee Soiree

It was a joy to sit back in the Stadium last night and listen to our very talented students play drums, keyboard and guitar. Students from Prep-6 performed with such confidence. I would like to congratulate all the students. I would like to thank the instrumental teachers: Richard, Trent and Lenoard for the work they do with our students. I would also like to thank the many families who attended the concert. If your child is interested in participating in instrumental lessons, please contact Carmen Carnovale to find out more information. We also sent an Operoo today for you to indicate if you would like your child to continue or commence instrumental/vocal  lessons in 2024.

Galilee Swimming Carnival

This time last week we were at MSAC for our annual Swimming Carnival. Students participated in a range of events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and some even took up the option to compete in Butterfly. It was wonderful to see all students participate with confidence. We would like to thank Year 6 students who supported our junior students. We would also like to thank the many parent volunteers who helped to make sure the day ran smoothly. Finally we would like to thank Mr. Greene for organising the event and teachers for all their hard work on the day.

School Closure Day  - Next Friday 1st December

Staff will be analysing data from this year to help make strategic plans for 2024. Galilee staff will be working with Madeline Kelly and Amerall Bloom from MACS who will oversee the process. We look forward to sharing our data analysis and strategic direction in the coming weeks.
