DISCO

Our sensational Freaky Friday Disco, which took place on December 17th, was a resounding success! The children delighted in having their faces painted, capturing memories at the photo booth, and dancing joyously to the catchy tunes that filled the air. It was so wonderful to see kids dressed up for the occasion, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. We were thrilled to have a fantastic collaboration of dedicated parent volunteers, whose collective efforts contributed immensely to bringing about this memorable occasion.

Organizing an event on the scale of the disco is a formidable undertaking - we rely solely on volunteers to run and organise it. Dolores deserves special recognition for not only stepping up to lead the charge but also for successfully spearheading the Mother’s Day stall this year. Dolores is a valuable asset to our team, showcasing exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Her commitment and capabilities make her a formidable force in ensuring the success of our events.

The success of the school disco is a great example of how crucial parent involvement is to the vibrancy of our school community. It goes beyond mere participation; it reflects a shared commitment to creating a positive and enriching environment for our students. The dedication of our parent volunteers not only amplifies the joy of events like the school disco but also reinforces the strong sense of community that defines our school.

SECOND HAND UNIFORMS

We are delighted to inform the school community we have had a very successful year in raising funds of almost $5000 from our sales.  Thanks to all families for donating outgrown uniforms and special thanks to P&F members Liz, Veronica, Cat, Hues, Naomi, Irene, Krystal and Julie.  We look forward to receiving more donations for 2024.  Just a reminder that Grade 4 students will need to get a short sleeve v-neck sport shirt for sports in Years 5 & 6.  We rarely get these in the second hand stall, so please visit PSW for purchases.

AGM

As we approach the end of the current year, our 2023 Committee prepares to pass the torch, making way for a fresh wave of enthusiasm. We're extending an invitation to all members of our school community to step up and become key players in the upcoming 2024 P&F Committee.

There is a role for everyone who is invested in Milgate’s success in providing the best possible education and nurturing for our children.  The P&F Committee, a dynamic team, encompasses roles below (please see attached details regarding the description of different roles):

  • President or Co-Presidents (office bearer role)
  • Secretary (office bearer role)
  • Treasurer (office bearer role)
  • Other committee members handling vital functions like marketing, social media and class representatives etc

We find ourselves at a pivotal juncture, with some of the existing key members marking 2024 as their final year of their Milgate journey.  Your involvement will ensure the continuation of P&F and all our collective achievements all these years.

To take the first step towards shaping the future of P&F, you could complete the Nomination Form attached for yourself or a friend you know to milgate.pf@gmail.com no later than Thursday 7th December 2023.  Each nomination will be duly recognized and voted upon during the upcoming Annual General Meeting on 8th December 2023.

Should the unfortunate circumstances arise where no volunteers step forward for the 3 elected office bearer positions in 2024, we regret to inform you that there will not be a P&F next year.
