Graduation Preparation
What a year it has been! Our Grade 6 students have been working hard in preparation for their Graduation Ceremony. Earlier this term, the Grade 6's took part in a weekly incursion from Maddie, a teacher at Stomp Dance Company. From their starting position, named "The Alex" after one student who struck the strongest pose, B.P.P.S. proved we've got the moves. It was great to see students, with varying levels of experience as dancers, put themselves out there and try their best. Our students stepped up to the challenge of learning an entire dance routine, including position changes and a timed canon, in only five sessions. But just for fun, we decided to continue our weekly rehearsals, now with our teachers running the show. Truly a sight to be seen.
That's not all the students have been doing to prepare for the Graduation Ceremony! The Grade 6's designed graduation envelopes to send home invitations to their families, and are working on decorations for the stadium too. Last week the Grade 5/6's joined forces for an afternoon K.G.T. session, working hard to beautify the school. Paths were swept, tanbark was shovelled and wheelbarrowed, the chicken coop was cleaned, and litter was picked up (using arm length claws, of course). Our students' hard work demonstrated a real sense of community, pride and satisfaction in a job well done.
Now, with less than a week until the Graduation Ceremony, we have the difficult job of getting ready to say goodbye and good luck to our Grade 6's. Whether they've been at Boroondara for seven years, or just a term, we will miss them all. How the time flies!
We look forward to seeing students and their families at the Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, December 13th.
Best wishes,
