Level 3 & 4 Wonga Weekly

CBL

This week we will continue working on our challenge; 'Showcase your new scientific discoveries'. Students are busy investigating, experimenting and designing how they will showcase their learning. We have some very keen scientists working hard in the Level 3&4 building at the moment!

Due to an increasingly busy schedule, we have had to change the date for our 'Scientific Showcase'. We now plan to showcase our learning on Tuesday 12th December from 2.45pm and we would like to invite parents and carers to drop by our classrooms on this date to help our students celebrate their great learning. Please keep an eye out for further details regarding our 'Scientific Showcase', a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our CBL learning for the year.

LITERACY

This week we will be reading fractured fairytales and comparing them with traditional fairytales . We will be considering how the characters from these stories challenge traditional stereotypes.

This week in Writing we will be focussing on developing our own fractured fairytales, considering one part of the story will be changed or 'fractured'. 

What you can do at home

Revisit some traditional fairy tales that you may have at home in your bookshelves. Talk about the characters, do they play the villan, the victim or the hero? Do they follow traditional stereotypes?

MATHS

This week we will continue focusing our maths thinking on many other areas of learning; considering turns and angles, telling time, collecting data, and spending money. Revisiting lots of mathematical concepts through hands on tasks.

What you can do at home

Encourage your child to spend some time each night exploring Mathletics to help revise many of the concepts that we have looked at throughout this year.

Wednesday 6th December - Carols evening, concert starts at 6pm on the school oval

Thursday 7th December - Whole School Friendship Day

Tuesday 12th December - L3&4 CBL Challenge Day; 'Scientific Showcase' from 2.45pm

Monday 18th December - Super Fun Times, end of year celebration day for L3&4 students (further details will be sent shortly about this activity which will take place at school)

Wednesday 20th December - last day of the year (early dismissal - 1:30pm)
