Year 10 Work Experience 2024

The Year 10 work experience program was introduced to our Year 9s in their Startup program this term. Students can now begin looking for a work experience placement for 2024. Each student was given a work experience arrangement form during this introduction. Sports Academy students were given a form during a homeroom meeting. All students have been emailed a digital copy of the forms as well.

Students not continuing with cadets:  must complete work experience during the Cadet Camp week, April 29-May 3. Students are expected to organise their work experience placement themselves, however parents can play an important role with workplace connections and help make the first approach to a possible employer.

Cadets: are encouraged to complete work experience in the Term 1, 2 or 3 holidays. However, in recognition of their commitment to cadets, work experience is not compulsory for these students.

All students will complete a work experience induction program in their Careers classes in Term 1.

What are the next steps after successfully obtaining a position?

  1. Fill out the student and parent/guardian sections of the work experience arrangement form.
  2. Fill out the travel and accommodation form if relevant to your child’s work experience.
  3. Take the forms to the employer to sign.
  4. Return the form to the Careers office.
  5. Mr Rowe will then sign the form to confirm this placement. (All other signatures must be on the form before his.)
  6. You will then receive two copies of the completed form closer to the work experience week: one for you and one for the employer.

Our LLEN (Local Learning and Employment Network) are also able to help with the organisation of work experience.
