Year 7 Pastoral Care

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Here we are at the end of Year 7 and what a big change-filled year it has been. I’d like to congratulate all of Year 7 for their personal and academic growth this year. Being in Year 7 is never an easy task, from having to navigate the transition from being the seniors in primary school to being the juniors again and also having to manage a substantially different way of approaching a regular school day with new classes and numerous teachers. I feel that our fine young women in Year 7 have handled this in a way characteristic of Brigidine students - with Strength and Gentleness.

As we head into a much-needed summer vacation period, I’d like to wish you all a most Happy Holidays with your families and friends. I hope you all have a relaxing time away from school (I know I will!!!) and that your motivation and excitement levels build up again ready for an action-packed and exciting Year 8 in 2024.

With warmest regards and best wishes,

Year 8 Pastoral Care

As promised in the last newsletter, more information and photos from Camp will be following!

Our Year 8 students had an unforgettable time away on camp, where they bonded, laughed, and worked together in a myriad of exciting activities. From the heart-pounding Giant Swing to the precision of Archery and the exhilarating speed of Go-Karts, our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination. These experiences not only fostered teamwork but also allowed our students to discover new strengths within themselves.

The creativity continued to flow during the Newspaper Fashion Night. Year 8 showcased their imaginative prowess by crafting fashionable ensembles using newspapers. It was a night filled with laughter, creativity, and a celebration of the unique talents that make our Year 8 cohort so special.

In another fun-filled event, our Year 8 students let loose at the Silent Disco. With headphones on, the students danced the night away to their favourite tunes without missing a beat.

Celebrating Sporting Triumphs

We are also thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Taylor Rogers for her outstanding achievement in the Summer Cup Jiu Jitzu Competition. Taylor's dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud to see her excel in her chosen sport. Well done, Taylor!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Parents and Carers

As we close the chapter on this term, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the parents and carers who have been an integral part of our Year 8 journey. Your unwavering support, whether it be attending events, assisting with activities, or cheering from the sidelines, does not go unnoticed. The success of our students is a testament to the collaborative effort between home and school.

Wishing You a Wonderful Christmas Break

As we approach the festive season, we would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a joyous and relaxing Christmas break. May it be filled with cherished moments with family and friends. Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of educating and nurturing your children. We look forward to continuing this journey together in the new year as we welcome this wonderful cohort back as Year 9 students!

Year 9 Pastoral Care

Dear Year 9 Parents and Carers,

As we say goodbye to another incredible school year, it's time to reflect on the achievements, memories, and growth that have defined the past months. From the first day of classes to the Year 9 Camp, each moment has contributed to the collective journey of our students, teachers, and staff.

Camp: A Journey of Discovery and Friendship

This year's highlight undoubtedly was the unforgettable experience at our Year 9 school camp. Nestled amidst nature, students had the chance to explore, learn, and forge lasting friendships. Whether it was conquering challenging activities, experiencing camping overnight in the bush, sharing stories around the campfire, or gazing at the stars, the camp provided a unique setting for personal and communal growth. We hope these memories will linger, serving as a reminder of the resilience, teamwork, and joy that can occur when you put yourself outside your comfort zone.

Celebrating Achievements

As we reflect on the academic year, we can't help but celebrate the numerous achievements of our students. From academic excellence to artistic prowess, athletic triumphs to community service, each accomplishment speaks to the dedication and passion that our students bring to their endeavours. I am immensely proud of the hard work and determination displayed by each member of our school community.

Wishing You Happy Holidays

As we close the chapter on this school year, we look forward to a well-deserved break for our students, teachers, and staff. May the holiday season bring joy, relaxation, and moments of reflection. Whether you're travelling, spending time with loved ones, or simply enjoying some quiet moments of solitude, we wish you a restful and rejuvenating holiday.

As we anticipate the start of a new school year, let's carry the lessons and memories of this one with us. Thank you for being a vital part of the Year 9 Brigidine community. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Year 10, 2024.

Warm regards,

Year 10 Pastoral Care

Dear Year 10,

As we approach the culmination of another remarkable year at Brigidine College Randwick, it's time to bid a fond farewell to our incredible Year 10 students. The memories we've created, the challenges we've conquered, and the friendships we've fostered have all contributed to a year filled with growth, resilience, and joy.

Year 10, you've been the vibrant heartbeat of our school community, displaying remarkable dedication, enthusiasm, and perseverance. Each one of you has embraced learning with an admirable zeal, delving into subjects and extracurricular activities, constantly pushing boundaries, and exploring the depths of your potential.

As you transition from Year 10 to senior schooling, know that the experiences, knowledge, and friendships you've gained during these formative years will serve as the foundation for your future endeavours. The challenges of senior schooling may seem daunting, but remember, you are more than prepared to navigate this new chapter. Your resilience and adaptability will be your guiding stars as you face these exciting challenges head-on.

However, before you dive into the next phase of your educational journey, it's time for a well-deserved break. The Christmas holidays beckon, offering a respite from the rigours of academics and a chance to rejuvenate your spirits. Use this time to rest, recharge, and relish the warmth of family and friends. Let the joy of the festive season fill your hearts with peace and contentment.

Amidst the holiday cheer, remember to reflect on the wonderful memories you've created this year. Cherish the friendships forged, the lessons learned, and the growth you've experienced. These moments are the threads that weave the tapestry of your school life, creating a rich and colourful mosaic of experiences.

As you embark on this holiday season, embrace the spirit of gratitude, kindness, and togetherness. Look back on your achievements with pride and look forward to the future with optimism. Be safe, make responsible choices, and treasure the moments spent with loved ones.

Year 10, as you bid adieu to this year, know that the Brigidine College community stands beside you, cheering you on every step of the way. The journey ahead may hold challenges, but it's also brimming with opportunities waiting for you to seize.

Wishing you all a safe, joyful, and heartwarming Christmas break. May the coming year be filled with boundless possibilities, laughter, and success.

Year 11 Pastoral Care

The year has finally drawn to a close and what a year it has been for year 11. The year finished with 2  significant trips for our Food Tech/Hospitality and Geography students with the Food Tech/Hospitality students going to Canowindra for the annual Paddock to Plate Trip and the Geography girls flying up to the Great Barrier Reef to conduct fieldwork for their Ecosystems at Risk unit of the Year 12 Geography Syllabus. From all reports the weather created some challenges however the girls conducted themselves extremely well and were excellent representatives of the college.

Congratulations to all award recipients who received an award for their respective subjects as well as the special awards handed out on the day. A special mention must go out to the Year 11 Student of the Year, Amelia Halonkin and the Dux of Year 11, Holly Mintoff. Well-done girls!

I would now like to take this opportunity to wish all families of Year 11 a safe, restful and Merry Christmas and I am thoroughly looking forward to what lies ahead for the 2024 Year 12 Cohort.

Merry Christmas!
