PATHWAYS UPDATE – Term 4, 2023

Year 9 2024

The Pathways Team have met with the incoming Year 9 (2024) cohort to introduce ourselves and some of the key activities we will be supporting them with across next year.

Students have been introduced to Morrisby Profiling and have the opportunity to complete practice questions so that they feel confident using the platform ahead of their scheduled Profiling in Term 1, 2024.

Students and parents are encouraged to access the FAQ on the Morrisby website to further understand the process and the excellent opportunity this affords our Year 9 students.

Further information will be provided at the Year 9 Parent Information Evening early in Term 1 and we look forward to meeting each of you then.

TAFE experience day

Our incoming Vocational Program and VCE Vocational Major students attended Chisholm (Frankston Campus) to receive a preview of facilities and meet some of the key staff including VDSS Trainers. The students enjoyed this opportunity to talk with the staff and further their understanding of the courses available.

Year 10 2024

Our incoming Year 10 students have been briefed on Work Experience (2024) and some eager students have already started looking for placements which is excellent!

A reminder of the dates for this – Monday 17th to Friday 21st June 2024, with all paperwork due in to the College no later than Friday 3rd May 2024.

All students across Years 7 – 12 are encouraged to access important Pathways information via their Compass Dashboard as the 2024 year progresses.

We look forward to continuing to partner with you in supporting each student to develop readiness for their lives beyond Parkdale SC and in creating an actionable plan to enhance their career preparation and readiness.

written application, attending an interview with senior staff, and presenting to their peers at assemblies.  This is a daunting process that takes courage and I thank all the students who applied. I am delighted to announce that the Junior School Captains for 2024 are:Junior School Captains:                      Ava FITZGERALD and Marcus O’MEARA-HAYESJunior School Vice Captains:             Sonny BRICKLE and Miles BUCHANAN I am also pleased to announce the Performing Arts Junior Captains are:Asha BLOCK and Maggie HARE Respect CupOn Wednesday 29th November all Year 9 students were involved in a day of seminars, activities and sports that are designed to increase their awareness and understanding of ‘respect’ – what it looks like and how they can cultivate it in their interactions with their peers.  The day included class-based sessions and a round-robin of volleyball.  The CONNECT class that accrued the highest number of points over the day was awarded the inaugural PSC Respect Cup. Congratulations to CONNECT group 2. The students participated positively and enjoyed the many activities.  We are planning for this to be an annual event for our Year 9 students.   I wish all
