Welcome to Term 3!

We excitedly look forward to the learning, the growth, the events and celebrations this term holds.

Staff Spirituality Day

Please note that all staff of St Augustine’s College will be participating in our Spirituality Day facilitated by Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd on Wednesday 13th August. This is a Student Free Day and our College Office will be closed.

We are excited and looking forward to this wonderful opportunity for learning and growth together and thank you for your understanding.

Masses and Liturgies for Term 3

This week our Years 1, 2 and 11 students celebrated Mass with Father Uday. Thank you to Father and our Parish community. Thank you also to our students and staff who participated wonderfully and all of our volunteers who undertook roles and supported this celebration.

Thursday 14th August will be a Liturgy for our Foundation and Year 12 students. It has been wonderful to share the joy of our Buddy Program and the amazing work and efforts of these students. We look forward to celebrating this with them.

Thursday 21st August will be a Liturgy celebrating our Years 3, 4, 9 and 10 students.

Thursday 28th August is our whole school Mass celebrating St Augustine’s Feast Day. Please refer to the recent Operoo for additional details. We are excited to welcome Fr Michael Morley to celebrate Mass with us in the Brigidine Centre at 11.30am on this day.

We invite our school community to join us to celebrate Mass, followed by our College Captain Applicant speeches, our Family Picnic Lunch and Cupcake Day!

On Wednesday 3rd September we have our Lone Pine Ceremony at 10.00am.

Thursday 4th September is our Beaut Blokes Breakfast and Liturgy to celebrate the special men in our lives.

Thursday 18th September will be our final Mass and Liturgy for the term, celebrating our Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 students.

Bishop Shane Mackinlay Visit

We were excited to welcome Bishop Shane Mackinlay to our Parish and School Community in the last week of Term 2.

Bishop Shane met with Parishioners, staff, students and members of the community and it was an incredible opportunity for discussion, collaboration and celebration. We thank Bishop Shane for his leadership, care and support and wish him the best in his role as Archbishop of Brisbane.

Campaspe Youth Summit

A group of students from St Augustine's College recently took part in the Campaspe Youth Summit, joining students from Echuca College, Moama Grammar, Kyabram P-12 College and Rochester Secondary College.

Throughout the day, students explored the key elements of effective public speaking, including the importance of eye contact, body language and clear communication. They also learned about entrepreneurship and how entrepreneurs work to solve real-world problems.

In collaborative groups, students discussed local community issues, selected one to focus on and worked together to develop a presentation. These presentations were then delivered to a panel of local community leaders.

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to grow their leadership, teamwork and communication skills while engaging with real issues that matter.

Thank you to our students who attended, Ms Chloe Grant for her care, guidance and assistance and the Campaspe Shire and community leaders who facilitated the event.

Sacramental Program

A reminder for our students undertaking the Sacramental Program this year that they are being presented with their books this Sunday during Mass.
