Dear Parents and Carers,
Celebrating Positive Learning & Behaviour
Congratulations to the vast majority of our students who continue to show incredible diligence and commitment to every aspect of school life! Your dedication to positive learning, fair play and good sportsmanship is truly setting you up for a bright and hope filled future. We are so proud of your efforts and the fantastic atmosphere you create at our school.
Our Community Expectations
Unfortunately, we've had instances of students disrupting class, using inappropriate language and not following directions. This behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
Our school is a community where everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, respected and cared for. All students are expected to act in a socially acceptable manner, both in and out of the classroom.
To ensure a positive learning environment for all, any student who is antisocial, uses inappropriate language, or refuses to follow instructions in an effort to get what they want, will have their parents or carers called and be sent home for the remainder of the day. This approach, known as "Behaviour Withdrawal," is a tool from the Armidale Catholic Schools Living Well Learning Well: A Student Support Framework and is designed to replace unproductive behavior with positive actions.
Understanding "Behaviour Withdrawal"
Our school's social expectations are at the heart of the Behaviour Withdrawal process. This tool is designed to reinforce our core values and help students understand how their actions affect themselves and others.
Behaviour Withdrawal focuses on three key principles:
Let's Work Together
By focusing on these principles, we can all work together to create a positive and productive environment. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home so we can maintain a respectful school community for everyone.
Questions? We're Here to Help.
If you have any questions regarding our Behaviour Withdrawal process, please don't hesitate to contact the school. I am more than happy to sit down and discuss the process with you.
For your reference, the Living Well Learning Well: A Student Support Framework can be found on our school website.
Warm Regards,
Bronwyn
