New Staff
Please help us welcome the following new staff to our community.
Mrs Bella Yuan
Bella is here at Endeavour for six weeks to help cover Mrs Constable's study leave and is really enjoying being part of the warm and welcoming Science team. Bella has recently completed her PhD in Chemical Engineering, with a focus on battery research.
Outside of work, Bella is a busy mum to a 14-month-old girl. She enjoys hiking and discovering new parks with her daughter in her spare time.
Mr Thomas Dawson
Tom is excited to join us here at Endeavour College, slotting in neatly to the English Faculty.
Since the beginning of his teaching career in 2014, Tom has taught English and History in both Adelaide and Melbourne.
He is passionate about language and literature; poetry and prose; analysis and alliteration. Despite his significant height, Tom has underutilised this in his life by not committing himself to a life of basketball.
Instead, Tom enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and cat, seeing live music, and travelling whenever possible. The limited spare time he has to himself is spent listening to records and, predictably for an English teacher, reading novels.
Mrs Laura Brown
Laura joins Endeavour College as a Middle School Mathematics and Science teacher.
Prior to coming to Endeavour, Laura worked at Concordia College for six and a half years.
She is most excited about joining our community and working with the students where she looks forward to building curiosity in the classroom and helping each learner grow in confidence.
Laura has four young children: Imogen, Toby, Bailey and Lexi. Three of these being school aged and playing sport, she enjoys spending time on the weekend watching them compete and cheering them on from the sidelines.
Mr Michael Brinkley
Michael joins Endeavour College to teach Geography, History and a little bit of Year 7 Physical Education. Michael is excited to start his teaching career here, having recently finished his Bachelor of Education.
Michael is an old scholar (class of 06) of Endeavour and has found returning to his old stomping ground both fascinating and nostalgic. Michael is married with two young boys in primary school and enjoys watching sport on the television as a means of relaxation. Watching the Olympic Games, and the variety of sport on show, is a viewing favourite.
PPEP Talk®: Educating Students on Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis
We are excited to inform parents about the PPEP Talk® initiative offered by the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia, an educational program designed to raise awareness about pelvic pain and endometriosis among secondary school students.
This one-hour interactive session, led by an educator from the Pelvic Pain Foundation, will be delivered to all Year 9 girls as part of their Health and Physical Education program on August 5. It teaches them to recognise normal versus abnormal pelvic pain, identify the symptoms of endometriosis, and explore effective pain management strategies. The program helps students understand the neuroscience of pain and the importance of seeking help when experiencing severe discomfort.
By raising awareness and promoting early diagnosis, the program aims to improve health outcomes and the quality of life for those affected by pelvic pain and endometriosis.
We believe this program is a valuable resource to ensure that students are well-informed about their menstrual health and pain management, enabling them to reach their full potential.
If you would like to know more about the program, head to the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia website at PPEP Talk® - Pelvic Pain Foundation.
