Principal's Panorama

Miss Justine Goonan

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a start to Term Three, back in the day they used to say that Term Three was the quiet term, but that is most certainly not the case for us at Sacred Heart this year!

In amongst all of the wonderful learning opportunities we have on the daily basis for our students we have also had excursions, incursions, school visitors, celebrated Feast Days, camps, preschool visits, Open Day, participated in events for the Corryong community, the Parish and much more and its only Week Four.

2026 Enrolments

It has been fantastic to welcome so many new and existing families to Sacred Heart School for school tours, our Open Day and Come & Try Day, as well as visits to Corryong Preschool and Khancoban Preschool by school staff. If any families require any further information about our enrolment process for 2026, please contact the school office.

Book Week

This week we celebrate Book Week, one of Sacred Heart School's most anticipated school events. With lots happening, we hope to see our Parent and Carer community throughout the week. I've heard about lots of planning going on at homes around the SHS community, this isn't limited to students, staff have been planning outfits for months!

Tuesday - Story Night

Wednesday - F/1 excursion to the Corryong Library for the Flying Bookworm workshop

Thursday morning 9am - Book Week Parade

Thursday afternoon 3.10 - 3.30 pm Book Fair in the Lacey Centre

Friday morning 8.40 - 9 am and afternoon 3.10 - 3.30 pm Book Fair in the Lacey Centre

Parent Teacher Meetings

Monday 25th of August is a Pupil Free Day for Sacred Heart School so teachers can meet with parents, carers and students to discuss learning achievements. These meetings will be organised with 20-minute time slots, allowing for a 15 minute discussion and time for teachers to be ready ahead of their next meeting. In these meetings we will discuss your child's/ren's Semester One reports, achievements in and out of the classroom as well as discuss future learning opportunities. Students are asked to attend with their families so they can discuss their achievements.

Parallel Wilds Incursion

Craig and Miss Lockwood have been working together for some time now to bring Parallel Wilds incursion to Sacred Heart School. Both the Year 2/3/4 and 5/6 classes participated in workshops facilitated by Craig.

The workshops focus on the future of the local wilderness and regenerative power of the natural world. Students got to interact with Virtual Reality tools to explore Mount Elliot in the Biggara Valley and create a virtual story through the eyes of the native species in the area.

This program was able to take place with thanks to Mitta to Murray (M2M) Landcare via Border Trust FRRR Bushfire Recovery funding and Craig's passion for the project.

Corryong Spirit

Thank you to the Corryong Spirit Committee for again inviting us to cater and participate in the recent Corryong Spirit event. Our Parent & Carer committee led this catering event, raising funds for our school and supporting an important local cause while doing so. Thank you to all involved!
