Camp

We had an amazing time on camp last week. Whilst the weather was cold, it didn't damper the students enthusiasm and engagement throughout the 3 days. Exploring the town on Day 1 was fantastic, with the confectionary store, blacksmith and gold panning being the most popular to visit.

Day 2 involved students participating in costume school, experiencing what school was like for children on the goldfields. Whether it was sowing, practising knotting skills, building wheel spokes or technical drawings, there were an abundance of activities the students enjoyed. At night, we were lucky enough to attend the AURA show. It was a fantastic experience learning about how gold came to earth, the significance that the goldfields have for Indigenous Australians and a re-enactment of the Eureka Stockade.

Day 3 was another day of experiencing the costume school. Learning to write with an ink and quill was a highlight, a long with visits from important people from Sovereign Hill.

We would like to congratulate all the students on the camp. They showed wonderful manners and exemplified our school values. Well done students!!!!

We would also like to thank our parent helpers: Martina, Vincent, Sonya and Nerali, as well as Daniella, Mic and Miss. Mealings, for taking time out of their lives to assist with the camp and make it a wonderful experience for our students.

Book Week

Book Week is coming up again in Week 5 (18th August to 22nd August). The theme this year is 'Book An Adventure'. Students will be able to dress up in costume on Monday 18th August, choosing a character from an adventurous book. We can't wait to see all the amazing costumes!

On Thursday 21st August, we will welcome Mark Wilson, an award-winning author and illustrator, to speak to the students about reading, writing and the inspiration behind his stories. Mark has won numerous awards for his books, and it will be a fantastic opportunity for the students to hear from a professional author.
