F/1/2 CLASSROOM

Welcome back to Term Three, a term that promises to be filled with exciting learning experiences and plenty of fun!
Our F/1/2 students have hit the ground running, already completing their first piece of writing for the term. It has been wonderful to see how well they’ve maintained and built on their developing literacy skills over the break. Students proudly shared their favourite holiday experiences through both writing and class discussions. A special mention must go to our Foundation students, whose writing continues to flourish, well done, team!
We’re also thrilled to kick off the term with our swimming program. Families can find more details on our Facebook page or via the SIMON everywhere.
In Inquiry, our focus is on History. Students will be exploring their personal histories, as well as learning about the local history of Rushworth and broader aspects of Australia’s past. We hope this sparks some rich conversations at home, especially as we begin looking into students’ own family stories. More information will be shared as the unit unfolds.
In Religious Education, we’ve started exploring the theme of Caring for God’s Creation. Students shared thoughtful ideas about why looking after the world is so important and created beautiful illustrations representing the order of the Creation Story from the Bible.
In Auslan, students have been busy learning the months of the year, with a special focus on the month of their own birthday. This has been an exciting and engaging topic, with students proudly modelling their understanding to peers through signing and participating in fun activities such as Birthday Bingo. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence and enthusiasm grow as they connect language learning to real-life contexts.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns—it’s always an open door in F/1/2!
