In-School-Activities Wrap up
Hip hip hooray - we officially reached 100 days of Prep last week!
To celebrate this exciting milestone, our Preps took part in a day full of fun and learning. We made and decorated 100 themed bikkies, made and wore our colourful “100 Days Brighter” party hats, got creative with our “When I Turn 100” writing and showed off our amazing maths skills by counting to 100 in all sorts of ways!
It’s been a wonderful 100 days of growing, exploring, making friends and learning together. We are so proud of how far our Preps have come - they’ve worked hard, shown kindness and made every day count.
Here’s to the next 100!
This term, our Year 3 students have been exploring geography through the lens of “Our Place, Our Planet: People and Environments.” They’ve begun by identifying what makes places special, drawing connections to familiar environments like homes, parks, and schools. This sparked discussions about how and why people use spaces differently—from farming to playing.
Students have eagerly investigated how to navigate Google Earth and explore our local area.
Levi – “I can find the park that’s getting built”
Anvit – “Doing maps is fun!”
Ella B – “I like that I can find places I know”
Mariphyl – “That’s our school and the ovals across the road”.
Using mapping and design tasks, they're developing key skills in observing, comparing, and questioning the relationship between people and places.
In the coming weeks, the class will study natural resources, focusing on water and vegetation across Australia and the world. They'll examine how environments can sustain or challenge human life, and how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have traditionally depended on native plants for food, shelter and medicine.
To wrap up the unit, students will present projects that showcase their learning about the connection between people and environments both locally and globally. It’s been a wonderfully engaging start to this unit of learning, full of inquiry, creativity and discovery—Year 3 are becoming thoughtful geographers with curious minds and big ideas!
