School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is an evidence-based framework that assists staff and students to develop and maintain a safe and supportive learning culture.

A big part of SWPBS is teaching and reinforcing positive social behaviour. At Hamlyn Views School, we have a behaviour matrix outlining our school values and expected behaviours. Teachers positively reinforce student displaying our school values and expected behaviours through positive praise and Monty tokens.

During term 2 students have been collecting their Monty tokens, which they display in their classrooms on their token charts and can exchange for a motivating item or activity. Marty and some of our senior students have also been getting the Monty Shop ready and over the next few weeks students will also be able to use their Monty dollars to purchase items from our Monty Shop.
