Dear Families of SMOTA,

It has been another busy and wonderful fortnight here at St Mary of the Angels, where our young people have shined, demonstrating a commitment to learning and each other!

Professional Development Days

On Monday 12th May 2025 our wonderful staff headed to St Joseph's West Tamworth where they completed a Learning Walk and Talk to witness the high quality teaching and learning that is occurring within our system of schools. This was such a value experience for all of our staff and there were a lot of take key aways from this experience.

On Tuesday 13th May 2025, we then gathered as a staff and school community to reflect upon our current practices here at St Mary of the Angels. As a staff and school community, we are always reflecting upon how we can ensure that our students are literate and numerate for a hope filled future and what we can be doing as educators to ensure that we are providing our students with high quality learning experiences and 21st century pedagogy.

Catholic School Principals Conference

This week, I attended the Association of Catholic School Principals (ACSP) 2025 Conference in the Hunter Valley. This year's conference was an excellent professional learning experience with an inspiring theme: Living Waters: Leading with Hope, Inspiring Faith Communities. I thoroughly enjoyed coming together with other principals and leaders in education to engage in conversations and was inspired by their stories of faith, learning and wellbeing.

Blessings,
