Reflecting, Growing, and Connecting: The Importance of Feedback

As Term 2 begins, students have now received their Term 1 academic results. This is a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and take stock of their learning journey so far. More than just marks, the feedback provided by teachers offers insight into strengths, challenges, and potential next steps.

We encourage all students to take an active role in reviewing their feedback. Some useful actions include:

  • Identifying patterns – Are there consistent strengths or challenges across subjects?
  • Setting specific goals – Focus on areas to improve and choose one or two achievable goals for Term 2.
  • Asking questions – Encourage students to seek clarification from their teachers about feedback they don’t fully understand.
  • Applying feedback – Use teacher suggestions to improve work on future tasks, assignments, or study habits.
  • Reflecting on learning strategies – Consider what study methods or time management strategies were effective, and what might need to change moving forward.

These reflection skills not only help students improve academically but also build independence and confidence as learners.

To support this process further, we warmly invite parents and carers to book a Parent-Teacher Interview this term. These conversations are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, celebrate progress, discuss concerns, and explore ways to work together for continued growth.

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on:

  • Tuesday 13th May from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Thursday 15th May from 11:00am to 7:00pm

We believe that strong partnerships between home and school make a real difference. Your involvement and insights are key to helping students achieve their best.

Bookings will soon open, with instructions on how to book online coming soon.

Warm regards,
