A Global Honour for Leah Heath
Congratulations to our very own Leah Heath, Science Teacher and Acting Head of Digital Pedagogy & Innovation!
We are proud to share that Leah has been selected as one of just 15 fellows worldwide in the inaugural cohort of the International Coalition of Girls' Schools Global Leadership Institute.
This prestigious recognition is a testament to Leah’s vision, expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing leadership in girls' education on a global scale.
At Mount Alvernia College, we are passionate about empowering young women—and it is both humbling and inspiring to see our educators championing that mission on the world stage.
Congratulations to Our Very Own Community Champion
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Mr James O’Gorman, one of our dedicated teachers here at Mount Alvernia College, who was named last week’s Community Champion by the Brisbane Lions.
James is an advocate for wellbeing and connection across Brisbane’s inner north, especially through his work with Mandown—an initiative that brings local men together for weekly run clubs, basketball games, and footy matches, fostering not just fitness, but genuine community spirit.
In April, James and the Man Down team hosted a Community Ball that raised over $8,000 for The Polished Man, supporting the fight to end violence against children. We are so proud to have him as part of the Mount Alvernia community. Congratulations, James—what an incredible achievement!
