Principal's Report

Term 2 Week 2
At St Leonard's we takes pride in our commitment to developing the whole person, and this second week of term clearly illustrates this dedication to nurturing the complete student. This week marked the exciting official commencement of preparations for our Willy Wonka musical. Students have begun working with Cathy Ellis and her dance team to choreograph the class dances, and the vibrant costumes have arrived, ready for dress rehearsals later this term.
Our future Preps also had the wonderful opportunity to experience our Performing Arts program this week through a well-attended puppetry workshop. We eagerly anticipate welcoming future students at upcoming open days.
Recognising the significant role of the online world in our students' lives, our termly "Inform and Empower" incursion continues to equip students with essential online safety and awareness skills while at school.
Students every year continue to encounter new challenges online even when they are at
home. To address this, we have arranged for the "Inform and Empower" team to conduct a dedicated online workshop for all parents. This session will cover the most current issues our students face online, and we strongly encourage all parents whose children have internet access at home to attend.
The webinar will be presented by the engaging Martin McGauran & Carley McGauran on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 7:30 PM (90 minutes). Parents can register for the webinar at: bit.ly/CommunityWebinarMay15.

Furthermore, our Sacramental Program is another vital way we nurture the whole student. All Catholic Grade 4 students will participate in their Commitment Mass on Sunday 4th May, at 10:00 AM. This marks the first step in their sacramental journey towards receiving the Eucharist. Following this, we will hold Eucharist Family Workshop for our Year 4 students. The First Holy Eucharist will be celebrated on Sunday, May 25th, at 12:00 PM.
Everyone is warmly invited to join us in supporting our Catholic students on this significant journey.
