Capture Fairfield Visual Arts and Photography Competition

Fairfield City Council is seeking the best artistic interpretations of Fairfield City as part of the annual Capture Fairfield Visual Arts and Photography Competition. This competition aligns with the outcomes in the creative arts curriculum and aims to enhance skills in creating artworks using various techniques and layouts.

All children from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3 who are residents of Fairfield City are invited to register their interest in participating. This year's theme is Discover Fairfield: Festivals, Food, and Family Fun! 

 

The guidelines and prizes for each category are as follows:

 

Visual Arts:

  • Artworks must be original and created by the student.
  • Can be completed on A4 or A3 paper using colouring pencils, crayons, or textas.
  • Any 2D, 3D, and digital art will be accepted.
  • A 200-word description is required.
  • Prizes:
    • First Prize: $200
    • Second Prize: $150
    • Third Prize: $100

Photography:

  • Photographs must be original and taken by the student.
  • Images must be captured within the Fairfield City Local Area.
  • Up to 3 photographs can be submitted.
  • If any photograph contains identifiable individuals, a photography and video consent form must be submitted. This form can be obtained from Miss Ta.
  • A 200-word description is required.
  • Prizes:
    • First Prize: $150 + framed winner's photograph
    • Second Prize: $100
    • Third Prize: $50

Timeline:

  • Friday, 6th June, 2025 - Expression of interest due.

     

  • 6th - 19th June, 2025 - 200-word description sheet will be provided.

     

  • Friday, 20th June, 2025 - All competition artwork and 200-word descriptions must be submitted to the office.

If your child is interested, please complete the expression of interest sent to families via the Sentral Parent portal. Please note that students' names and artwork will be shared as part of the competition results. The expression of interest must be completed by Friday, 6th June 2025.
