THANK YOU TO OUR EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE!

At Valkstone Primary, we're blessed with an incredible community that consistently rallies together to support our students and school. This was demonstrated once again during our recent fundraising events.

Every sausage purchased, every cookie eaten, every gift purchased, every mouth full of food eaten, and every minute volunteered has made a tangible difference. To everyone who contributed, please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated.

These fundraising successes are a testament to the strength of our Valkstone Primary community.

Election Day BBQ

I'm thrilled to announce that through your overwhelming generosity and support, we raised a remarkable $2,232.35 in profit! This outstanding achievement makes a great start on raising the money to install a new bike shed area that our students desperately need.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of parent volunteer Rochelle Travitz, who organised and coordinated our BBQ and refreshments stall, the day was a resounding success. This event could not have happened without the HUGE number of volunteers who helped out on the day as well. We would personally like to thank Carli, Atul, Joanne, James, Henry, Tori, Nancy, Therese, Liv, Sera, Joanna, Nuha, Inge, Debbie, Peter, Claire, Shiri, Lori/Ilan, Tracy, Miho, Youquin/Ash, Lena and David, who all gave up hours of their time to run the bbq as well as sell cookies and drinks.

Mothers Day Lunch

We're pleased to share that last Friday (9th May), 37 of our lovely Valkstone Mothers and Special People participated in our Mother's Day Lunch event. It was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion for all who attended! A big thank you to Jo McGrane and Torie Miller for their organisation, as well as their crew of 'behind the scenes' helpers.

This event is rapidly becoming a tradition here at Valkstone, and I look forward to the chance to attend next year! I'm going put it in my calendar now!

One of the highlights of the day was our successful raffle. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our school community, we had 14 fantastic prizes valued at over $1,500. We're thrilled to announce that the raffle raised an impressive $882 for our school! This remarkable amount came from ticket sales from 42 people, including some who couldn't attend the lunch but still purchased tickets to support our school's fundraising efforts. What a wonderful show of community spirit!

Many thanks to all who contributed to this splendid event. In particular, we would like to thank the following sponsors who kindly donated to the raffle:

Mothers Day Stall

One of the highlights each year for our students is the opportunity to go to the Mothers Day stall and purchase a gift for their Mums and special people. The thought that goes into the selection of each gift is a joy to watch, and there is a lot of careful deliberation going on!

Thanks to the wonderful organisation of Sarah James, along with a dedicated group of parents running the stall, there were hundreds of Mums on Sunday who were given a specially selected gift from the heart, which is priceless.

Although the stall helps towards our fundraising for the year, the main driver behind it is to give our students the opportunity to be independent and personally choose something special for their mums and special people on their own. As a school, we are also very appreciative of the extra $417 that goes towards our 2025 fundraising goal.
