Year 1

This week the Grade Ones went on our first walking excursion to coincide with our Integrated unit, ‘Who’s who in our Neighbourhood?’ We were enthusiastic explorers, identifying many features in our environment as ‘natural’, ‘constructed’ or ‘managed’. It was a great way to apply what we have been learning in class. Of course, we also had lots of fun playing on the playground!

In Math, we have started our addition unit using tens frames and breaking apart numbers with number bonds. We have also been playing games to help build our fluency. Ask us about the games we play, as they can be played anywhere!

In Literacy, we have been engaging with Persuasive texts in our Literary Appreciation. We will begin to transfer our understanding when we write our own opinions on different topics with supporting reasons.
