Year 6

The Year 6 students really enjoyed helping their prep buddy at the Mother's Day stall last Wednesday.

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 AFL Girls' team who participated at a Gala Day. Congratulations to the A team for winning all their matches and making it through to the semi finals.

Year 6 learning has included reading biographies of Australians from the 1900's-2000's, exploring Federation and Women's Suffrage from our Integrated unit on History Makers. Researching a well known Australian and using those facts to write a biography.

Maths has focussed on Algebra and learning about patterns and algorithmic thinking.

Our Literature Unit is based on the novel 'Once' by Morris Gleitzman.  The students will be studying the author's style and learning how to think deeply about the themes and messages of each chapter.

Next week commences a 3 week program on Sex Education where the students will learn the correct names for private body parts, body safety, the reproductive system, pregnancy and birth and the changes of puberty.
