Education Week Open Afternoon

Wednesday May 21

 3:30 – 5:00pm

We’re excited to welcome families to our Education Week Open Afternoon – a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate learning, and enjoy some relaxed fun together!

What’s On:

• Visit your child’s classroom and see their learning in action. Each student will have a special “I’m Proud Of” piece displayed on their desk – a chance for them to share their achievements with you!

• Enjoy games and activities with teachers and students around the school grounds. Activities include a photo booth, mini golf, obstacle course, ninja course, basketball station, skipping and volleyball.

• Teachers will be out and about leading games, while one teacher from each year level will be available in classrooms.

• It wouldn’t be a GRPS event without a sausage sizzle. This will operate from 3:30 – 5pm or until sold out.

Bring a Picnic!

If the weather is kind, feel free to bring a picnic rug and set up near the playground or oval to relax and connect with other families.

We Want to Hear From Our Students!

Our school values student voice to help improve learning, wellbeing, and engagement. To better understand how our students feel about school, we’ll be running the Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) from May 19 to June 13.

Students in Years 4 to 6 will complete the survey online during class time. It covers topics like learning, friendships, bullying, and general wellbeing. The survey is not a test, and participation is voluntary. All responses are anonymous and confidential. Each student uses a unique login for research purposes only — no personal information is recorded in the survey.

Survey results are reported in group summaries only, so no individual can be identified. In past years, we’ve used the results to hold student forums and improve school life based on student feedback.

Annual Privacy Reminder for our School Community

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools Privacy Policy

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

Enjoy the weekend with your family and friends
