Year 3/4 Cluster News
It's camp week! We are SO EXCITED! We also encourage students to engage in a good fit book to read for 15 minutes each night as we get back into the rhythm of the new term.
Camp reminders
Camp is Wednesday to Friday (7th-9th May) this week. Please make sure students arrive on time, as the bus will be leaving around 10.
We are aiming to be back by the end of school on Friday. The school will communicate with you if this changes.
Learning this week:
For week 1 and 2 we continue to explore our year-long ‘Who We Are’ theme focusing on Health and Wellbeing and work through important aspects of class essential agreements to support our learning community.
In Reader’s and Writer’s workshop classes are exploring information texts and engaging in learning about note taking and summarising. We are also look into the difference between fact or fiction and learning about the structure of explanation and information texts.
Mathematics: We will continue exploring number operations when solving worded problems (in particular addition, subtraction, multiplication) over week 1 and 2.
Unit of Inquiry: As part of our ‘Where we are in place and time’ theme we are focusing on Australian history, with looking at importance of ANZAC Day, symbols and emblems, before researching and interpreting perspectives on Colonisation, cultures, diversity, stereotypes and community.
Christian Studies: Exploring our prior understanding of decision making, influences, morals/ ethics and then looking at decision making in the Bible.

GLOW week (Week 9, Term 2)
We are super excited that GLOW week is back in Week 9 Term 2. If you have any special skills or hobbies that you’d be willing to share with the children, or if you would like to volunteer for this amazing week of learning, please contact your classroom teacher.
