Reading: Aim to read for 15 minutes each night at home. Keep on reading books for your Premiers Reading Challenge. Let’s finish it this term!
Word Study: Testing will resume in the weeks ahead, and then word lists will be sent home for practicing.
Learning this week:
Literacy: Word Study: Year 2 sound focus this week is: k. Year 3 sound focus this week is: se for ze. Below are the two lists of words we will be using at school to practice the sounds with.

Writer’s Workshop: we will continue our new unit of study on using Show, Don’t Tell in our writing.
Readers Workshop: to start this term we will be exploring the parts of speech in the texts we read. We will learn to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives and more in our reading.
Mathematics: We will begin the term with a focus on addition and subtraction, including long addition and long subtraction
Unit of Inquiry: We have begun the term with a focus on our ongoing Who We Are unit of inquiry on Resilience.

Mr T Absent – Please note Mr T will be at SACSA Athletics as the attending teacher, Friday May 2nd (Week 1). Mrs Smith will be in class that day.
