District Cross Country

Last Friday was the Rowville District Cross Country Championships held at Kings Park. Sixty students represented Park Ridge in either 2km or 3km races depending on their age. I was proud of the team’s commitment and attitude towards our training program, which began in term 1. Overall we finished in 6th place out of 8 on the day.

Congratulations to the following students who finished in the top 12 and have progressed through to the Knox Division Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, 28 May.

Savannah S – 9th

Lucas F – 5th

Jordan S – 6th

Lincoln S – 9th

Aleeyah L – 4th

Max C – 12th

Areet B – 2nd

Sophia K – 10th

I’d also like to give a shout out to the following students:

Dakoda S and Layla M - leaving camp early to participate – great commitment girls!

Sloane S – running up an age group!

Park Ridge Park Run will continue every Wednesday morning throughout the year for any students who would like a bit more fun and fitness in their life. Students just need to arrive at the fitness track at 8.15am and join in.

Hawthorn Player Visit

On Tuesday, 12 May our Year 2-4 students were lucky enough to have a Hawthorn FC AFL Player appearance. Mitch Lewis, Cody Anderson, Bodie Ryan and Will McCabe gave an insight into what it’s like to be an AFL player, what it takes to become one, as well as some of their favourite celebrations and opponents to play against.

I liked their theme of enjoying what you do, whatever that may be. The students were also excited to get plenty of signatures!
