Year 3 Camp

Year 3 Camp - Ferngully Lodge

On the 8th and 9th of May all the Year 3’s headed to Healesville to Ferngully Lodge for an overnight camp. Jason is the owner of Ferngully, and he told us all about the history of the camp. Ferngully Lodge was built in the 1890’s and was used as housing for the returned soldiers from World War 1. Now, Ferngully Lodge is an adventure camp.

When we arrived, we settled into our cabins and then headed out for our first activities in our groups. We had the greatest time of our lives in the gaga pit, trampoline, low ropes course and the giant swing. We also had the most exciting time on the high ropes, zipline, commando course and archery. One of the highlights was when Mr Stewart, Miss C and Tom went to the top of the giant swing.

We had some very proud cabins that won a lolly for having the tidiest cabin and one cabin that won the most improved cabin award. We enjoyed a yummy meal of spaghetti bolognaise, but the ice cream for dessert was the best! After our amazing day we settled down in our pyjamas to watch a movie. Unfortunately, we had a few technical issues, and we didn’t get to end of the movie. We brushed our teeth and settled into bed. By 10:30pm where all was silent at Ferngully Lodge.

The first cabin to wake, got up at 5am and found it hard to keep quiet. Before long, everyone was awake and after a breakfast of pancakes we headed out in our groups to finish all the awesome activities. Most of us agree that the Giant Swing was the best activity. After lunch it was time to say goodbye to Ferngully Lodge. We packed our bags onto the buses and waved farewell as we headed back to school.

We were all very happy to see our families and share all our stories from an incredible camp!
