PFA Election BBQ,

Mother’s Day Stall

& Popcorn Fridays are   back!

Thank you to all those parents who supported the various PFA fundraising and events in Term 1. Our much-loved Easter Raffle alone raised an incredible $6479 that will be used to further enhance our school community.

Term 2 is already off to a busy start for the PFA, with our Election BBQ & Cake Stall fundraiser happening this Saturday and Mothers & Special Person’s celebrations next week. Plus, Popcorn Fridays are back!

Vote at CPS this Saturday!

The Carnegie Primary School PFA invites you to come and support our community on election day! Vote at the school and get a democracy sausage from our BBQ, a soft drink to quench your thirst, or sample the delicious baked goods from our school community.

This year's Election BBQ and Cake Stall is being sponsored by the Koornang Rd Traders Association, Baker's Delight on Koornang Rd, Hot Bird, Woolworths at Carnegie Central and MVJ Koornang Rd too. Could you please support our generous sponsors wherever possible!

The BBQ and cake stall will operate from 8am until 3pm (or until food runs out)! A coffee cart will be located near the Truganini Rd entrance from 8am - 12pm for anyone who needs a little bit of extra morning motivation.

All proceeds from the BBQ and cake stall will go to the school. Entry from Truganini Rd gate. Cash encouraged but not essential (EFTPOS will be available). We hope to see you there and please bring your family and friends!

Mothers & Special Person’s Celebrations

Next week CPS will be celebrating all the amazing mums and other special women in our community.

Children will be offered an opportunity to purchase a gift for the special women in their lives at the Mothers & Special Person’s Stall on Tuesday 6th May. Classes will be allocated a time to visit the stall during the morning. Gifts will range between $2 to $6, so if you would like your child/ren to purchase a gift, please send cash to school next Tuesday.

There are also a handful of tickets left for the CPS Mother’s Day Lunch on Friday 9th May from 12pm at Grazia in Glen Iris. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased via Qkr.

Popcorn Fridays are back!

As the weather cools down, we say farewell to icypoles and hello to popcorn! Popcorn Friday returns this Friday 2nd May, so get your $1 coins ready.

Unlike Icypole Fridays, Popcorn Fridays alternate fortnightly between the younger and older grades, kicking off this week with Grades 3-6. This is because there is a bit more work involved in popping all that popcorn!

This year, popcorn will be handed out at recess so the kids can enjoy as a morning snack (one less thing for parents to pack for lunchboxes!) Thank you to Mandi Katzenstein for putting her hand up to coordinate Popcorn Friday this year.

Popcorn Fridays will be held on the following dates in Term 2:

  • Friday 2 May 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 9 May 2025 - Prep - 2
  • Friday 16 May 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 23 May 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 30 May 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 6 June 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 13 June 2025 - Grade 3-6
  • Friday 20 June 2025 - Prep-2
  • Friday 27 June 2025 - Grade 3-6
