Robina State School Orchestra

On Thursday 24th of April, our year 3 - 6 students were very fortunate to have an orchestral incursion at our school. Travelling from the Gold Coast, Robina State High School rocked up in the early morning, with instruments in hand, ready to put on a memorable performance.

To kick off the music, the full Orchestra played marvelous classical compositions. The music hit the highest of highs with violins and wind chimes creating a beautiful serenade to set the scene, followed dramatically with thunderous drums and double bases to immerse the audience in suspense.

Once the mood was set, the String Orchestra took centre stage, performing with great elegance and grace. The highlight came when our student volunteers joined them on stage to the sound of the theme of Jaws, only to burst out with sharks in hands, to the ever popular tune of Baby Shark. The crowd roared in applause and laughter when Grandma and Grandpa shark surprisingly joined in.

Next up, the Concert Band played exciting music that is commonly reminiscent of the scores in movies. The xylophones together with the drums and various brass instruments echoed  loudly across the Hall, having everyone bopping along to the epic music. Four lucky students were able to fulfil their dreams by being given a Harry Potter Hogwarts robe to wear as well as a magical wand, to cast spells to the tune of the theme song. A truly magical experience.

Last up was the Stage Band. As the students got to stand up and rock out to great hits including Poker Face and Crazy in Love, a barricade was put up for some extra special individuals to join the mosh pit!

We could not be more thankful for the awesome experience that Robina State High School provided, with many of our students leaving the session inspired to pursue their own musical interests.
