Student Achievements

Making Her Mark
Congratulations to Lily Gatehouse (Year 3) on her win in the Years 3-4 writing section of the Braille House Braille Literacy Challenge.
This nationwide reading and writing challenge allows braille students to come together to challenge each other in a fun and friendly way. It is a great opportunity for students to network with others experiencing blindness or vision loss.
We are so proud of your achievement Lily!
Scaling New Heights
Congratulations to Year 9 student Scarlett Henderson on participating in the recent State Bouldering Titles (rock climbing without ropes). As a result of her climbs across the day and finals, Scarlett is now ranked 4th in Tasmania for Under 17 Bouldering and has qualified for the state team to go away to national titles. Congratulations Scarlett!
Enrichment in the Primary and Secondary
Semester 2 has once again seen a comprehensive range of opportunities tailored to support our students fostering confidence, intellectual curiosity, skill building, development of critical and creative thinking as well as a love of learning. Teachers work hard to provide enriching activities designed to challenge and extend students within their classrooms and subject areas.
Many students have participated in competitions across diverse curriculum areas during the semester. These competitions ranged from mathematics to writing to history challenges just to name a few. Competitions provided platforms for students to test their abilities and push their intellectual boundaries allowing them to not only showcase their talents but also instill a sense of perseverance, strategic thinking, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Our overarching goal in the enrichment space this semester was to ignite and sustain a genuine love of learning, providing students with a holistic educational experience, preparing them not just for academic success but for future challenges in an ever-evolving world. We achieved this goal through the richness and diversity of opportunities offered. Many students have achieved group or individual success as reported in previous issues of The View.
