Principal's Report
Creativity & Endeavour. Respect, Inclusion, Resilience
Another successful school camp has come and gone, with just under one hundred tired but happy Year 5&6 students returning from Phillip Island Adventure Camp this afternoon.
Our campers have done a multitude of amazing activities, including the Giant Swing, an incredible flying fox, low ropes, bush cooking and archery.
Thursday evening featured a trip to the Penguin Parade, which was windy and slightly damp, but featuring lots of penguins waddling up the beach toward their burrows.
The weather has truly included all four seasons and a variety of climates - from unseasonal warmth through to positively Arctic!
As always, the students of our school have shone in their behaviour, attitudes and willingness to give everything a red-hot go.
A massive thank-you to the staff who have left their families and home life behind to go on camp - thank you very much to Micah, Cam, Mel, Irene, Ash, Joyce, Steve, Hannah & Eugene.

As we approach the end of the second term of the school year, a reminder that school will finish at 2:30pm next Friday.
Student reports will be available to families on Compass from Thursday afternoon next week, with parent/carer-teacher meetings to be conducted in week 2 of term 3 - bookings for these meetings will go live at the beginning of term.
As detailed on the PFA page of this newsletter, last weekend saw another very successful movie night event, with more than 120 students in attendance.
Thank you very much to chief organiser David and the team of parent/carers organisers, -these wonderful community events are such an important part of making lasting memories for our students and your efforts are truly appreciated!
This week, Steve Roche and I met with representatives from the VSBA as well as the architect and builder of the playground project for a 'handover' meeting. Aside from a few items that are still to be fixed up, the removal of the temporary fencing so students can start enjoying the space is hopefully going to happen before the end of term.
A few other plans ongoing at present include:
The VSBA budget for the playground expansion didn't quite stretch to include planting - we're collecting quotes from landscaping companies to deliver this!
Replacement of existing gas heaters in the gym with a heating and cooling system - we're hoping this project will occur in the early part of term three. This project is only possible due to our incredible community fundraising in 2025!
A company has been appointed with the approval of School Council to replace the floor coverings in all student toilets, with work scheduled to begin in the upcoming school holidays
The new veggie garden area is progressing, with the beds flattening out, stones being spread as a base for some new structures, and various sheds and houses being prepared for our chickens and plants. Any more green thumbs who would like to volunteer to help with the garden are most welcome!
Our electronic sign on Birdwood St has unfortunately reached the end of it's functional life. We've explored a number of options, with a new screen due to be installed next term.
