Teaching & Learning

Student Reporting
We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual. The reports will be made available this Friday, June 19th via Compass at 4pm.
The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union members.
In addition to student reports, teachers will be available to discuss with you your child’s progress at our upcoming parent-teacher interviews scheduled for June 22 (4-6pm) and June 24 (1:30-5pm).
Bookings are currently open for parent-teacher interviews and will close this Friday, June 19th at 4pm.
As always, please give the office a call if you have any questions or require support to make your bookings.
Young Authors' Program
Last Friday, June 12th our year 4 and 5 students who are participating in the Ballarat Young Authors’ Program attended their first workshop, with the theme for the day being: ‘Characters, Chaos and Creativity’.
The workshop was held at the Ballarat Library and was hosted by Pleasant St and Dana St Primary Schools. Students participated in 4 sessions throughout the day, as set out below:
Author Talk with Ben Sanders - Visual Storytelling, Show Not Tell
Author Talk with Garry Fay - Characters causing chaos
Tamara Sheward - BALLARALPHABET
Anthony Kearle - World Building & Map Creation
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all our BPS participants, providing many inspiring opportunities. Each one of them represented the school beautifully, which we are very proud of- well done!
