How To Read My Child’s Report Workshop
From 3pm on Thursday, 25 June, parents will be able to access their child’s Semester One Academic Report via the Compass Parent Portal.
These reports provide a summary of each student's achievement and progress across the learning areas taught during the first semester.
A standards-referenced approach is used to report student achievement in NSW.
Achievement grades are based on the NSW Common Grade Scale and reflect the student's demonstrated knowledge, understanding and skills against the outcomes taught and assessed during the reporting period (Terms 1 & 2). Teachers make professional on-balance judgements to decide which grade description best matches the standards their students have achieved at a particular point in time. These decisions are based on evidence of achievement and information teachers have collected during the teaching and learning.
The report also includes information about the student's effort and learning behaviours. If you would like to make time to discuss this Report with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office.
To provide parents with an overview of the Academic Report, including how to read the report and the rationale behind its format and structure as well as clarify your understanding, I will be presenting a 30 minute session in the hall tomorrow, 23 June at 9am.
PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning)
PB4L Expectations and Reminders
Setting clear expectations for behaviour and uniform is essential to ensure all students are Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. To reinforce these standards, we are regularly re-teaching our school's expectations within individual classes and across the whole school, making sure every student is well-informed. We appreciate parents' support in promoting these high expectations with their children.
Ask your child about the weekly focus for students.
This fortnight's focus:
Be People of Welcome & Inclusion!
Show for self and others:
All staff (office, casual teachers, canteen, specialist teachers); All students, parents & visitors
Listen and respond respectfully in games and collaborative tasks (include others); Promote safety by using your manners, showing empathy and gratitude; Be responsible by waiting your turn and managing impulsivity
Kindergarten - Enjoying Recess on the Adventure Playground
We have recently opened the Over the Bridge area as another play space on the Adventure Playground - the children are loving it! Here are a few photos from recess on Thursday:
2026 World Cup - Green & Gold Day
We are very excited to be supporting the World Cup! At last week's assembly, we held a draw and allocated every class, staff member and family a country to follow throughout the tournament.
The competition is on, with the country that performs the best by the end of the World Cup earning its supporters a mufti day. We look forward to seeing which country comes out on top and enjoying some friendly rivalry along the way!
This Friday, 26 June, students are invited to wear green and gold to support the Socceroos as they take on Paraguay. Students will also have the option of watching the game at 12noon. If students would rather wear a soccer jersey of their choice to celebrate the Beautiful Game - then go for it!
Happy Birthday
Wishing all our students a very happy birthday who celebrated their special day over the last fortnight.

Protect Your Child This Winter – Free Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine Available
As we move through the winter respiratory illness season, NSW Health is encouraging families to take simple steps to protect themselves and others from influenza (flu).
Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory illness that can spread quickly in schools and other settings where people are in close contact. While many people recover at home, influenza can cause serious illness and complications, particularly in young children. Vaccination remains the best protection against severe illness and hospitalisation.
Free Nasal Spray Vaccine for Children and Teenagers
NSW Health is offering a free nasal spray influenza vaccine for children and young people aged 2 to 17 years for a limited time. The vaccine is:
Needle-free and painless.
Given as a quick spray into each nostril.
Approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
Available through participating GPs, pharmacies and Aboriginal Medical Services while supplies last.
The nasal spray vaccine provides families with an alternative option for children who may be anxious about needles and aims to increase protection against influenza across the community.
Why Vaccination Matters
Children can become seriously ill from influenza and can also spread the virus to family members and others in the community. Schools are environments where respiratory illnesses can spread easily, making vaccination an important step in reducing illness and absenteeism during winter.

Parents and carers can access information and resources from NSW Health:
We encourage all families to consider vaccination and speak with their GP, pharmacist or Aboriginal Medical Service about the most appropriate option for their child.
