We acknowledge that some families are time poor and wish to have the information communicated as concisely as possible. I appreciate and am always open to any feedback regarding the Catholic Life and Culture of the school.

After the overwhelmingly positive turn out and feedback from our previous Parish Family Mass (Palm Sunday) the Parish is hosting our Term 2 gathering which includes, the Choir leading the singing at 8:30 Mass followed by morning tea in the courtyard and free play on Grass Area 1.

We hope to see as many of our families there as possible. If you wish for your child to participate in the offertory, please email the school office ASAP.

Last Thursday- Year 5 Parish Mass

Last Thursday, Year 5 were blessed to celebrate Mass with Fr Paul O'Donoghue. The students were praised for their engagement, confidence in sharing their knowledge and active participation through responding. We learned a little more about how we should pray and the meaning of the very important prayer “The our Father”. Thank you to the Year 5 students, their teachers and their family members for attending. This Thursday, Year 1 students will be attending mass at 12:00, parents and family members are warmly invited to attend.

Year 2 students have been learning about the story of Moses

Over the next 2 weeks, Year 2 students will be learning about the story of Moses and the Exodus. During this unit, our students will be exploring the story of the Exodus, which serves as the foundational saving event of God within the Old Testament. Following their earlier learning in Kindergarten and Year 1 regarding the birth of Moses and his divine call to leadership, students now deepen their understanding of God as the great liberator and saviour, just as the creation narratives reveal Him as the great creator.

Signs of God's abundant love remain ever-present throughout the Exodus journey. We see how God remains attentive to the prayers of Israel, granting Moses the profound courage required to guide His people safely through the waters of the Red Sea.

I wonder if you can answer these questions relating to Moses?- The last one is a challenge!

Year 6 Sacrament of Confirmation Parent Information and Prayer evening (Term 3 Week 1)

The planning between the school and parish is well underway for the Sacrament Confirmation. An essential and necessary part of this planning and preparation is the parent information and prayer evening. This evening, held in the church, is a special time for parents of candidates to receive necessary information, (including enrolment forms and booking information) about their child’s Sacrament and how they can support them on their journey.

The evening is scheduled for Wednesday July 22 at 6:00pm

Year 4 students prepare for the Religious Literacy Assessment (Term 3 Week 2)

In Week 2 of Term 3, all students in Year 4 across the Diocese of Wollongong will participate in the Religious Literacy Assessment (RLA). It focuses on religious literacy, knowledge and understanding of key concepts taught in the Religious Education program from Kindergarten to Year 4. Like all quality assessment, the results help us inform our teaching and celebrate the wonderful learning that is happening at St Joseph’s!

Students will complete the assessment on their iPads with their classroom teachers in Week 2. If you require further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Updated “Who We Are: Bearers of Christ’s love”

The Diocese of Wollongong has updated its Who We Are: Bearers of Christ's Love brochure and poster as of 1 June 2026. Printed copies will be delivered to schools shortly from the Catholic Education Office.

A Note of Gratitude for the end of Term 2

Concluding Term 2: A Message of Thanks

As another term focused on growth in Learning, Faith, and Wellbeing comes to an end, I want to express my deep appreciation to the families, students, and staff of St Joseph’s Bulli. It is a privilege to see how deeply our Catholic Faith is integrated into our school culture, and I am incredibly proud of our joint efforts.

A particular highlight for me this term was joining various classes for Christian Meditation. These sessions have been a wonderful example of the meaningful work happening here; students often share how calm and prepared they feel to learn afterward, with many even asking for longer sessions or more frequent opportunities to participate. I am truly thankful for the warm welcome and support I have experienced.

I hope the upcoming two-week break provides everyone with a well-deserved opportunity for rejuvenation and rest away from the usual school schedule.

Finally, considering our Vision and Mission I encourage you to reflect on what an incredible school St Joseph’s is, and how well we go about to achieve this shared Vision and Mission.

OUR VISION

Our vision at St Joseph’s is to ignite in all our students the passion for learning with a Catholic ethos.

OUR MISSION

Our mission at St Joseph’s is to develop in our students:

  • Active and creative minds

  • Understanding and compassion for others

  • Courage to act upon their beliefs

We are guided in our mission by the example of Jesus and we surround our students with the traditions of our Catholic faith.
