🎓 Alumni Spotlight: From Berwick College to a Career in Medical Imaging

This Science Week, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on Aaditya Singh, a 2014 Berwick College graduate and former School Captain, who has built an inspiring career as a Sonographer, combining Science, Technology and patient care to help diagnose and understand the human body.

After graduating from Berwick College, Aaditya completed a Bachelor of Science, followed by postgraduate study in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, including a Master of Medical Ultrasound (Research). Today, alongside his clinical practice and research, he has the opportunity to mentor and train the next generation of sonographers. 

His passion for healthcare was sparked during his time at Berwick College, particularly through Year 12 Biology with Ms Duncan, whose enthusiasm for the subject helped inspire his career pathway. He also fondly remembers Year 12, the Year 12 Formal, Metalwork and Woodwork with Mr Batista, and IT classes with Ms Longwill.

💬 Aaditya’s advice to our current Year 11 and 12 students?

"Your ATAR does not define who you are or what you are capable of achieving. There are many different pathways to reaching your career goals."

He encourages students to stay curious, ask questions, step outside their comfort zones, build relationships with their teachers and, most importantly, choose a career that genuinely interests them. 

"When you're passionate about what you do, learning becomes enjoyable, challenges become opportunities, and success tends to follow."
