Werribee Zoo Excursion

On the 30th of August, our Year 11 Biology students embarked on their excursion to the Werribee Zoo. The day consisted of three activities; including a workshop, safari tour, and time to experience the zoo. The workshop allowed students to extend their understanding of their knowledge in Unit 2 AOS 2, including adaptations & ecosystems. Students conducted studies on the Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus giganteus) and conducted quadrat experiments to survey the grasslands ecosystem. Students discovered some amazing facts about the Eastern Grey Kangaroo such as how their physical body structures help with survival and interestingly one bound can cover up to 6 metres of ground at a time.  This excursion really helped to extend our student's understanding and added to their success in their assessments.

Well done!
