RUOK? Week

At Tarneit Senior College, we celebrate RUOK? Day as a week long celebration, to remind everyone that it’s important to check in on your community not just on RUOK? Day, but all days.

This year we celebrated each day with a different activity that encouraged students to connect with their friends and join in as a community to raise awareness for mental health. This included activities such as sports competitions, milkshakes, affirmation cards, giant board games, music entertainment and so much more to help raise awareness for checking in on each other. On Friday, we ended the term and RUOK? Week with a big carnival, which had a human footstall inflatable and basketball shootout inflatable. It also included Belise and Ebony from wellbeing, with some incredible students helping, to give out freshly made popcorn and fairy floss!! Also a big shoutout to Berlantina and OJ for being our carnival DJs and playing some amazing music, which ended in a dance circle where students (and some staff) got to show some moves off!

Another shout-out to Headspace, Odyssey House, Wyndham Youth Services, and Reclink for jumping on board for our activities throughout the week!Overall RUOK? Week was a reminder to all students that when you’re going through tough times, that you can lean on your community to lift you out of those dark times. As a wellbeing team, we cannot thank each of you enough for participating and also our amazing student volunteers who helped us during each activity!
