From the Classroom

Celebrating our Classroom Volunteer, Peter

Peter is part of the EdConnect program, which trains volunteers to support our students in the classroom. This week, Peter was recognised in the Rowville–Lysterfield Community News for his wonderful volunteer work at Karoo. We had the pleasure of taking a group photo to celebrate Peter's recognition. The students gathered around him, holding up the newspaper that featured his story. 4K students were so proud of Peter's recognition that they wanted to write a few words about him in our school newsletter!

In my school we have helpers. In my class Peter comes every Thursday, Peter likes learning and going to school to teach kids. - Edi

We are very thrilled to have so many amazing volunteers at Karoo; for example Peter, a volunteer from EdConnect. He has said “I love working at this school because I love watching you learn and grow." - Cleo

We love that Peter is here with us. He volunteered from EdConnect to work with us. He is a 77 year old hero that brings happiness and joy to the classroom. He loves reading and writing. He comes to help us every Thursday. - Millie

Volunteers help us in our learning. They help us in reading writing and maths, and much more. Every Thursday we have had the pleasure to have Peter from EdConnect. Peter has helped us grow and see us contribute. Peter is a 4K citizen! - Lucy

Volunteers at Karoo help with reading, writing and maths. Peter has worked in 4K, we make him feel welcome. There is a program called EdConnect. Peter helps people who need help, he comes to 4K every Thursday. - Walter

Volunteers spend their time helping students learn grow and play, like Peter. Peter is a kind hearted and joyful volunteer, he went through the EdConnect learning process so he could help students who need to study more or just in need. Peter is 77 years old and still a genius helper, Peter loves to help and read. When you get to know Peter he is super kind and positive. Every Thursday Peter come's and makes everyone smile with his jokes and understanding of people's learning. - Xavier

We encourage you to pick up a copy of the Rowville–Lysterfield Community News and read the story about Peter's involvement in our classroom. It's a testament to the fantastic community we have here at Karoo!

Warm regards,
