Year 11 and 12 VM Community Food Elective

This year our Year 11 and 12 VM Food Elective classes have been working with Whittlesea Food Collective in their food relief program.

 Every week, our amazing Food Technology Assistants collect a variety of donated produce from Whittlesea Food Collective and bring it back to school. On Tuesdays and Fridays, our students use this produce in our kitchens to create a variety of meals to be donated back to the community.

 These meals are then packaged and brought back to Whittlesea Food Collective to distributed to those who are experiencing hardship and lacking food security. 

So far this year, we have donated over 300 meals to Whittlesea Food Collective! These meals have included a variety of pasta dishes, curries, soups, stir-fry's, fritters, quiches, bread, muffins and much more! 

The staff at Whittlesea Food collective have been very impressed with our students’ efforts and the meals have been extremely popular with their clientele. 

We are incredibly proud of our amazing students for their positive approach to the subject, ability to work collaboratively and for developing their food knowledge and skills in the kitchen. 

They are to be commended for their valuable contribution to our community.
