Students from MLA recently attended an excursion at The Lume Art Exhibition called CONNECTION. This was a wonderful experience, as students were able to explore how the First Australians connect to the the land through art, music and story telling. MLA students were able to learn about different cultural stories and their significance. The gallery was shown through projection, and they also had the opportunity to interact and manipulate the some of the art.

In the artwork below (by Gabriella Nungurrayi),  students learned about a dream time story from an indigenous community in South Australia called 'the seven sisters'. They also learned about the different materials and techniques used in traditional and modern aboriginal art.
