General Information

Uniform policy - hats required for Term 4

Clovelly Park Primary School expects students to wear their school uniform with pride.

This policy has been negotiated by the Governing Council in consultation with students, parents and staff.

The Governing Council have the responsibility to develop policy on dress codes within their school. The Clovelly Park Primary School community believes the wearing of our school uniform:

  • promotes pride in our school
  • enhances our public image
  • ensures student safety
  • reduces peer group pressures
  • encourages appropriate clothing for school activities and excursions
  • promotes a sense of equality and equal opportunity that will in turn promote self esteem

Footwear

Safe sensible footwear is required at all times. Sandals with secure straps are acceptable during hot weather.

Please note:

All articles of clothing and footwear worn by students must conform to our school policies. They must ensure personal safety and health requirements. They must enable students to participate successfully in all school activities.

If unacceptable items of clothing are worn (e.g. singlets, tank tops, thongs, ugg boots) students will be counselled. Where appropriate parents will also be contacted to seek support for our school dress code.

Hats

In accordance with the school “Sun Smart” policy, all students must wear a school hat during Term 1 and Term 4.

Legionnaire or wide brim hats provide the best protection from the sun. Only hats purchased from the school are acceptable as they meet the Cancer Council recommendations.

R U Ok day

R U OK? Day this year was on Thursday the 14th September. The theme was “I'm Here, To Hear”. Asking R U OK? is the first step, but it is important to genuinely listen to what comes after.

Many of the students were delighted to see Ms VG's dog, Kashma again for a visit on this day!

Japanese visitors

We were fortunate to host a group of visiting teaching students from a University in Japan.

Peace Pole

We had the official launch of our Peace Pole on Thursday 21st September.

The Peace Pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message 'May Peace Prevail on Earth' in different languages on each of its four sides.
