Principal's message

Dear Families,

What an action-packed term it has been! Whole school swimming, visitors from Japan, excursions to the Zoo, incursions from the Nature Education Centre, Wakakirri and Festival of Music performances, Indonesian Independence Day, Peace Pole Ceremony, Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and PAT testing. No wonder we were all looking forward to the school holidays!!

At the end of the term, we said farewell to Mr Brodie, Ms Natascha and Ms Mehra. Brodie has been teaching our health specialist program, Natascha has been supporting individual students and Ms Mehra has been the class teacher in R1.

We thank each of them for their contributions to our students and school and wish them every success for the future.

In term 3 we have been fortunate to have had Ms Tegan Miller join our staff and work with Ms Louise and the students in R4. As the Year 2’s are getting older and physically bigger, and we have additional students joining the class for Term 4, they are in need of a bigger classroom space. After careful consideration, Ms Louise and the students will be moving into the Blue Unit in Room B2.

Ms Tegan will take on the role as class teacher in R1 for Term 4.  I’m sure that some of the R1 students would already know her.

As B2 is currently the HASS room, Ms Kathryn has moved into a new space in the Green Unit to make room for Ms Louise and the Year 2’s.

As many of you would be aware, Ms Smith (PE), Ms Connie (R1) and Ms Shirley (R3) are all currently on Maternity leave.

We congratulate each of them on the safe arrival of their babies. Ms Smith and Ms Shirley on the safe arrival of her baby girls and Ms Connie on the safe arrival of her baby boy.

We are patiently waiting to hear of the safe arrival of Mr Simon's baby. Mr Simon will be on leave for the first 3 weeks of Term 4 to spend time with his wife and new baby.

We hope that you are able to spend some time with your children during the holiday break. For the families that are travelling, we wish you a safe journey and look forward

to welcoming everyone back to school on the first day of Term 4 – Monday 16th October.

Kind regards,

Terena Pope
