Disco
Our School (student) Disco is on this Friday 13th October and doors open at 6:30pm!
This is the social event of the year for our children and should prove a huge hit!
THIS WILL BE A MOBILE PHONE-FREE EVENT.
Mobile phones will not be permitted to be brought into the hall.
Thank you to all those who volunteered to assist. Our PFA will make contact with you today with further details.
Our parent volunteers will be assigned to various supervision tasks throughout the evening so we ask parents to drop their children off at 6:30 pm and return to collect them at 8:00 pm sharp.
Our Disco is open only to children in Years Prep-6 and the cost is $10.00 per child ($15 per family), payable at the door on the night. Once inside, children will not be permitted to leave the hall until the conclusion when they are collected by their parents.
Our always-popular Candy Corner will operate,
where children can purchase goodies such as chips and snacks as well as glow sticks!
Our School Disco is always a popular event on the calendar and this year will be no exception!
Multicultural Day
As communicated to families earlier this week, our Multicultural Day will be held on Wednesday 25th October.
This is an exciting day where we, as a school community, will celebrate our diversity.
As a part of the celebrations, a special lunch is being organised for the children by our PFA. If interested, children will have the choice of sushi or pasta. An order form will be sent home with the children. Alternatively, children can bring their lunch from home.
Order forms MUST be returned to the school office with correct money (no change will be given) by Friday 20th October.
We welcome children to come to school dressed in something that reflects multiculturalism to their family. In the past we have been graced with the presence of an international soccer player, a Roman soldier, a Spanish dancer, an ancient Egyptian and even a Disney Princess or two. Of course, this is entirely optional, but the children will have the opportunity to parade their costumes at our special Assembly.
We are really looking forward to this exciting day and we thank Signora Catrina Anderson in advance for all the work she has put into organising such an event.
Swimming Program
Our Year Prep-4 Swimming Program commences on Monday 30th October and will run for seven (7) consecutive days at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre.
Swimming is part of the Physical Education curriculum and it is expected that all students attend. Students will travel to and from the venue by bus each day and each lesson runs for 43 minutes.
More details will be sent home to families via Operoo.
Important Notice!
Believe it or not, we are well into planning preparations for 2024 so to assist with staffing and class groupings we really need to know ASAP if there are any families who are NOT returning to Corpus Christi School next year.
Thank you to those families who completed the recent Operoo form confirming their child's/children's enrolment for 2024. If circumstances have altered please contact the school office ASAP.
No Hat No Play
As per our SunSmart Policy, the children will also need to be wearing their school hats during recess, lunch and PE lessons in Term 4. This will be enforced from the beginning of next week. Children who do not have a hat will need to play under the shaded areas of the school.
Have a wonderful week.
God Bless
Anthony Hyde
