Year 5/6 Report

We have reached the end of Term 3!

On Monday 4th of September, the grade 5/6 cohort went to Camp Kangaroobie in Princetown for 2 nights. Students had the opportunity to participate in various activities including canoeing, muddy obstacle course, farm life tour and a survival game of student's vs teachers. On the first night of camp, students went on a night walk where we called out to aliens and looked further into the night sky and the Milky Way. The second night students held the official APS talent show followed by a disco party full of dancing and singing. Before returning to school, we made a final stop along the Great Ocean Rd where we got to view the beautiful surroundings of the 12 Apostles. Camp Kangaroobie was filled with fun, excitement and challenge!

To finish off our Inquiry OzHarvest FEAST unit, students have designed, tested and published their own healthy recipes for our very first APS Cookbook. Students presented their recipes to all staff and students in the form of a Recipe Showcase.

In reading, students have been learning about how modern medicine techniques have improved the lives and health and wellbeing of many people.

During our writing lessons, students completed and published their narrative pieces. All students have now posted their writing pieces on Seesaw, so check them out!

On the 25th of August, the grade 5/6 cohort participated in the Book Character Dress Up Day & Parade! It was great to see the creativity and effort that was put into everybody's costumes.

Last Friday students participated in a whole school footy day where they were able to dress up in their favourite footy team colours.

Congratulations on a wonderful fun filled, hardworking term and we look forward to Term 4.
