Year 3/4 Report

We’re thrilled to share some highlights from our recent activities at school.

Inquiry

The 3/4 students had a blast during our recent energy-focused Inquiry unit. We consolidated our knowledge during the ‘Mad About Science’ workshop, where students explored the properties of heat and other energies in a fun way. During the workshop, students engaged in experiments producing multiple forms of enegry, including through friction, motion, electrical and chemical energy. The highlight was observing a fiery exothermic combustion reaction. To finish our inquiry unit this term, students have showcased their learning by creating a slideshow to teach their younger buddies about energy forms. Students wrote an explanation text to support their presentations.

Book Week

Our recent Book Week celebration was a fun day where the students dressed up as their favourite book characters. During the week, we explored captivating CBCA shortlisted books and completed literacy activities inspired by these books. Students looked amazing in their costumes and supported their buddies in the whole school parade. It was a great way to share our enthusiasm for literature.

3/4 Camp

We are really looking forward to camp on Monday the 2nd to Wednesday the 4th of October. We have been preparing students by holding an information session with the 3/4 cohort and answering questions. Please support your child by looking at the packing list during the holidays. If your child is requiring any medication for camp, please bring this to school in a zip lock bag with clear instructions of dosages and hand this to Krystal Cohen (who will act as medical officer), before we depart on Monday the 2nd of October.

We appreciate your partnership in your child’s education and look forward to more exciting learning in Term 4.
