Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Term 3 has been busy with lots of learning and events. We have had swimming, pyjama day and book week dress up. We have coming up Footy day, Father’s Day and our annual musical. I would like to thank all staff, students and families for their contributions and support of all the wonderful events.  I invite you to look at our school Facebook for photos of our events.

The wellbeing and safety of our students is our top priority and as such we have very successfully launched our lunch clubs. The next phase of our wellbeing and engagement programs will focus on implementing engagement programs that will have different foci such as resilience, school connectedness, emotional regulation and more. This term we have launched the Rafiki engagement program that includes learning playing the ukulele as well as building soft skills in podcasting. In term 4, there are plans to implement further targeted programs to support our students such as an Art therapy program to build resilience, structured play to teach appropriate social skills and emotional regulation sessions.

Thank you to families who support our school by communicating the Kilberry Valley PS expectations with their child. Reinforcing and speaking to your child about our school’s expectations and the importance of displaying respectful and positive behaviours plays a critical role in ensuring everyone’s safety and right to learn. We have recently refreshed our 6 steps in managing behavioural expectations in the classroom. Please see below the updated steps and an insight into how our school ensures that our classrooms continue to be a safe and stimulating learning environment.
