Changes to Classrooms - Kinder and Year 1

Melanie Sluyters

You may already be aware of some exciting plans ahead as we expand our footprint within the Early Years space by reopening and establishing our 3 and 4 year old Early Learning program (Mon-Fri) at the beginning of Term 4.  In order to fulfil this vision, there is a need for us all to come together and do our part along the way.

In coming weeks there will be some changes and it may come as an inconvenience to you and for that I apologise, but I trust we are all excited by the destination as we establish our Early Learning Centre in what is the current Kindergarten House.  We also look forward to watching the development on the corner that will take place over time, with the end result housing our Kinder students in what we are calling ‘The Louisa’.

Please see below some key information and dates, bearing in mind there may need to be some flexibility with these dates.

Week 7 of Term 3  (4 - 8 Sept)

  • The Primary Music Room will be packed up and moved to its new space.

Week 8 of Term 3  (11 - 15 Sept)

  • Kinder students will merge with Prep Monday through to Wednesday as the Kinder is moved up to the Primary School.
  • For the remainder of 2023 Kinder will be housed in the current Year 1 classroom.
  • Towards the end of Week 7 and early Week 8 the Year 1 class will be moved into the Primary Music Room - this will be their new classroom for the remainder of the year.
  • In order to move successfully and keep our students safe, Year 1 will work out of the Library on Monday 11 September.
  • Kinder to be housed and working out of the current Year 1 room as of Thursday 14 September.

We understand that this may be a difficult adjustment for some students as they move to a new environment. We will do everything we can to provide the best support for each child through the transition. It is an exciting time ahead as we grow and develop our Early Years together. We look forward to working with you and seeing the project come to full fruition and supporting you and your child in the transition to Prep.
