LRC News

Term 3 was a very busy time for the LRC!

There were two weeks of Harry Potter displays and activities which cumulated to his birthday on the 31st of July. The library staff donned their cloaks and displayed their House colours. There was a photo booth which proved very popular along with dress-ups, displays, puzzles and ended in a scavenger hunt and movie.

Book Week was very busy as well and the staff were replaced by some interesting book dignitaries. Willy Wonka made an appearance, Zorro was discovered tidying the shelves and Wally was ‘found’!

The library was also pleased to have two author visits during our Book Week Celebrations. Mandy Ord who is a graphic artist and novelist presented to our Year 8s, with a select few who were treated to a workshop where the students created some wonderful masterpieces. In the same week, author and artist Martin Chatterton was invited to speak to the Year 9s and was very well received and a popular addition to our Book Week festivities. We also honoured Roald Dahl Day with a display of many of his much-loved books.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our TLAs who come into the library every day to help shelve books and assist with displays and general duties that may arise. You are much appreciated by all the staff in the LRC.

Come to the library to see our Halloween display and choose a spooky book. There will also be bookmarks and badges to take and activities through Halloween week.
