'Wear it Purple' Day
At Pakenham Secondary College, we have a clear commitment to ensure that our school is a respectful, safe and inclusive place of learning and work for all students, staff and members of our school community.
As part of this commitment, we recognise and celebrate Wear it Purple Day, which was held on Friday 25th August, 2023.
This is to support all lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning (LGBTIQ+) young people in our school and the community, to uphold diversity and equity for everyone regardless of their background, characteristics or beliefs.
At our school, we welcome anyone who wants to wear purple accessories on the day to do so, to show their support. To mark this occasion, we held fun activities during lunch time for students including nail painting, hair braiding, jewellery making and bingo.
